Chilliwack BC Liberal Candidate Laurie Throness is a Conservative

A Conservative in Liberal's clothing?
It has always been my contention that the BC Liberals were conservatives, the BC Conservatives were bat shit crazy and the Chilliwack by-election is certainly proving my point.

BC Liberal Candidate Laurie Throness has been quoted saying that  "I have a long record of conservative politics and I think that we need someone to replace Barry Penner, who is a small "c" conservative, within the Government Caucus."

Sure that's all well and good, except, if you are running as a Liberal candidate, maybe you should enact Liberal policies.

Throness has worked for a social credit MLA, a conservative MP for the last 8 years and has a degree in Bible Studies. One must ask : Why the BC Liberals? Christy Clark recruited Throness which only further proves that the BC Liberal party is a conservative party in sheep's clothing. It also doesn't hurt that the BC Conservatives hold 0 seats in the province.

Political parties are free to pursue whatever policies they wish but is it too much to ask that their branding reflect those views honestly?

Chilliwack does not need small "c" conservatives or conservatives running as pretend progressives, they need honest politicians and political parties that are clear where they stand on the issues so that the electorate can make an informed choice.
