If the NDP / Canadian left ever hope to defeat the now entrenched conservative majority 3 points need to be discussed :
1. What will your organization due to counter vote splitting?
To be fair Nathan Cullen did try to discuss this point, however, most candidates were united against even making mere mention of this most pressing issue.
2. How will the left deal with the perception they do not have any comprehensive plan to function in the role of government in place opposition?
Martin Singh seems to to get this, he strikes me as the most centrist candidate from this one debate performance.
3. How will the NDP deal with the fact that the Conservatives and Harper will undoubtedly run attack ads against whichever candidate wins for years, leading up to 2015?
Harper did it to Martin, he did it to Ignatief and has already started against Thomas Mulcair. There needs to be a plan to respond to this wedge tactic that will be used. Ignoring this inevitability in my opinion is not acceptable.
Bob Rae is not helping either by piling on with Harper and Co. This further reinforces the need of point number one.
